FYP PROPOSAL WORKSHOP FOR DEFENSE PRESENTATION

Activity: 

  • Listening to the FYP workshop
Objective:
  1. To Learn & Understand what I need to prepare for Defense Presentation.
Content:
In this week, there was a workshop on Proposal Defense Presentation presented by Sir Mohamad Shaiful Osman.

In this Workshop, focus on talking about:

1. Proposal Defense Presentation which will be conducted in the coming 11th week.


The workshop topics explained about:
  1. Planning
  2. Preparing
  3. Practicing
  4. Presenting


Planning:


It is recommended that; the presenter need to focus on what problem are we trying to solve, link the points together while making sure the storyline is interesting and make sense for the audience, and for the closing, sum everything and restate the main points and the conclusion of the projects.



Preparing:



It is important to thoroughly review the research and be familiar with all aspects of the study. This includes understanding the research question, methods, results, and conclusions.




Practicing:


Practice delivering the presentation to a group of peers or a mentor. This can help you identify and address any areas that need improvement, and help you build confidence in your delivery.



Presenting:

When presenting the defense presentation, it's important to:

  1. Start with an introduction: Begin by introducing yourself and providing a brief overview of the research study.
  2. Clearly state the research question: Be sure to clearly state the research question and explain the significance of the study.
  3. Describe the methods: Clearly explain the methods used in the research, including the study design, participants, and procedures.
  4. Address questions and concerns: Be prepared to answer questions and address any concerns raised by the panel or audience during the defense.
  5. Summarize: Summarize the main points of the presentation and reiterate the significance of the research.
  6. Be confident and speak clearly: Speak confidently, clearly and make sure you maintain eye contact with the audience.
  7. Be open to feedback and suggestions: The defense is also an opportunity to receive feedback and suggestions to improve your research.
