In this week, there was a workshop on how to write the FYP proposal presented by Sir Azmi Bin Hashim.

In this Workshop, focus on talking about:

2. Chapter 5: Conclusion & Recommendations
3. Abstract

In Chapter 4: Result and Discussion, Sir Azmi Bin Hashim explained that results section contains all of the data to support the hypothesis that was proposed in the chapter 1, which is the introduction of the project. Data presentation can illustrate by using graph or table, tables can be used to display precise numeric value while graph or figures are better for conveying trends or proportions.

Strategy when writing chapter 4:
  1. Present your results in terms of figure/table/chart/drawings.
  2. Immediately describe the presented results in terms of the obtained values.
  3. Discuss why the results are obtained in such way.
  4. Compare your achievements with previous research.

In Chapter 5: Conclusion and Recommendations, the conclusion of a research report is a summary of the main findings and key points of the research study. It is used to summarize the results and implications of the research for the readers.

Recommendations are a set of suggestions or actions that can be taken based on the conclusions of the research study. These recommendations are used to guide future research, policy decisions, or practice in a given field. They are often used to suggest specific changes or improvements that can be made based on the results of the research.

Sir Azmi also mentioned about abstract of the project, an abstract is a brief summary of a research paper, article, or other written work. It is typically included at the beginning of the work, before the main text, and provides an overview of the content and main points of the study. The purpose of the abstract is to give readers a clear and concise understanding of the work, so they can decide whether or not to read the full paper.

The abstract should include:
  1. The research questions.
  2. Methods.
  3. Results.
  4. Conclusions of the study.
  5. Key findings or implications.
