FYP PROPOSAL WORKSHOP FOR CHAPTER 1, 2 & 3

Objective:
- To Learn & Understand how to write a FYP proposal.
Content:
In this week, there was a workshop on how to write the FYP proposal presented by Sir Shah Rizailli Mukhtar.
In this Workshop, focus on talking about:
1. Chapter 1: Introduction
2. Chapter 2: Literature Review
3. Chapter 3: Methodology
In Chapter 1: Introduction, Sir Shah Rizailli Mukhtar explained that one of the preliminary steps in completing a project proposal and project report is the background study.
The background study for a project includes:
- A review of the area being researched.
- Current information surrounding the issue.
- Previous studies on the issue.
- Relevant history on the issue.
The purpose of a background study is to help student to prove the relevance of project.
In this chapter, problem statement is included, the problem statement is the stepping-stone for the main research question. I need to identify a problem first to explore and know the solution.
Objective is also stated in the chapter 1, the objective should be specific statements that define measurable outcomes.
Objective should be S.M.A.R.T:
Specific.
Measurable.
Achievable.
Realistic.
Time constrained.
In Chapter 2: Literature Review, is a text of a scholarly paper, which includes the current knowledge including applicable findings, theoretical and methodological. A literature review should be structured like an essay, it should have an introduction, main body and a summary or conclusion.
Literature Review should include the following contents:
1. Provide an overview of the subject or issue.
2. Divide outside works into categories and concepts.
3. Connect the works to what has come before student's work and ideas.
In Chapter 3: Methodology, is the most important aspects on how the project system is carried out and the basic structure should have:
1. Describe the materials and equipment used in the project.
2. Explain how the samples were gathered.
3. Explain how the measurements were made.
4. Describe the statistical techniques used.
